OBJECT:
Dissolve butadiene crumb rubber into 1,000 gallons of asphalt at 360 degrees F.
PROBLEM:
Crumb rubber tends to agglomerate and “golf ball sized” lumps take 24 hours to fully dissolve.
RESULTS:
Lumps are ground down to minus ¼” in one pass through Dicon – recirculation grinds rubber down to 20 mesh (1/32” or 780 microns).
AB MIXER:
Model 6 x 3 Dicon with heat tracing tape
