OBJECT:

Disperse titanium dioxide (TiO2) and zinc oxide (ZnO) down below 1 micron into a sunscreen base.

PROBLEM:

Fine dispersion below 1 micron requires special grade of zinc oxide and titanium dioxide and high shear.

RESULTS:

By recirculating mixture through in-line rotor stator all solid particles are shear to a sub-micron level.
