FLEXIBLE POLYMER COATING
Description
OBJECT:
Dissolve styrene ethylene butylene styrene block copolymer in a hydro carbon solvent (ethyl benzene)
PROBLEM:
At 45% solids copolymer pellets required many hours to fully dissolve.
SOLUTIONS:
Run laboratory size heavy duty rotor stator mixer at full speed to shear semi-dissolved pellets until dissolved in 5 gallon batches.
AB MIXER:
Model CJ-4BX air operated explosion proof Reversible Homogenizing mixer.
BENEFITS: Complete dissolution in one half hour – no undissolved specks. Polymer coating is flexible for enhanced grip on gloves and tools. This flexible coating is also utilized for golf club grips and prosthetic devices.
