MATERIAL: Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) chips approximately 1″ x 1″ x 1/8″, Methylene Chloride or Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK), Coating for wires.
PROBLEM: Dissolve vinyl chips in either solvent.
RESULTS: Recirculated and reduced vinyl chips in solvent to 100% minus 1/8″ in one pass. Recirculated at 20 gpm. Final solution is 1,000 cps with no resin specks remaining.
AB MIXER: Model 3 x 1.5 toothed impeller/liner, 5 HP, 3600 RPM, 1/8″ grid. Vertically mounted underneath tank.
EQUIPMENT REPLACED: Tumbler mixer. Cowles Dissolver. Silverson Mixer.
BENEFITS: Drastic reduction in chip dissolution time. Product speck free. Increased production 400%.
