RUBBER COATING
Description
MATERIAL:
Calcium carbonate/xylene/rubber.
PROBLEM:
Disperse Calcium Carbonate in Xylene. Add very thick rubber solution. No lumps permitted in product.
RESULTS:
Quickly produced smooth mixture.
AB MIXER:
Model 3 x 1.5 toothed impeller/liner, 5 HP, 3600 RPM, 1/8″ grid. Recirculating to agitated mixing vessel.
EQUIPMENT REPLACED:
Gear pump
BENEFITS: Smooth product. Batch made faster. Filler ratio increased providing $2.90 savings for each pound of Calcium Carbonate used instead of rubber. Previously required 60% rubber and 40% filler. With Dicon, smooth 50-50 mixture made.
