MAGNETIC TAPE COATING
Description
OBJECT:
Iron Oxide dispersion for magnetic tape coating. AB mixer used for three functions:
1. Disperse resin into solvent.
2. Premix iron oxide into above prior to grinding in sandmill.
3. Final dispersion of ground premix and solvent prior to coating
(let down).
PROBLEM: Grind Magnetic coatings flocculate after let down.
RESULT: Successful in all of the above.
AB MIXER:
One C-1 mixer, 33″ immersion, 5 HP explosion proof motor.
EQUIPMENT REPLACED:
Gifford-Wood
