LIQUID ANIMAL FEED PREMIX
Description
OBJECT:
Liquid animal feed premix – Urea dissolved in sugar beet molasses, 10-34 ammonium polyphosphate and 2% by weight hydrated Xanthan gum in water.
PROBLEM:
Disperse 200 mesh calcium carbonate in liquid feed premix. Produce smooth mixture.
RESULTS:
Circulated at 15-20 gpm. Dispersed calcium carbonate easily. No lumps.
AB MIXER:
Model 3 x 1.5 toothed impeller/liner, 7.5 HP, 3600 RPM, 1/8″ grid. Installed vertically under mixing tank.
EQUIPMENT REPLACED: Greerco 3″ pipeline mixer.
BENEFITS:
“Gritty” product feel was eliminated. Solids settling from incomplete dispersing was stopped.
