BIODIESEL MANUFACTURING

Description
MATERIAL: Bovine animal fats with methanol and catalysts to form biodiesel via esterification and tranesterication.
PROBLEM: Reactants are immiscible, available surface area contact is minimized.
RESULT: Intense high shear mixing under cavitational conditions shears methanol phase into tiny droplets ranging 1 to 2 microns – surface area is vastly increased and reaction yields are maximized.

AB MIXER:

Model 1010.05 with 5 HP motor for pilot plant usage.

Model 1020.05 with 30 HP motor for 8 million gal/year.
Model 1048 with 100 HP motors for 50 million gal/year.

BENEFITS: Slow batch reactors eliminated. Reaction yield maximized, side reactions minimized. Reaction control increased.
