Description
OBJECT:
Electrostatic copier “ink” (powder). Fast wet-out and thorough dispersion of powders prior to spray drying. 70% solids loading includes: Carbon Black, iron oxide and silicates.
PROBLEM: Abrasive wear, plus high viscosity and specific gravity. Other mixer brands tested could not maintain wet out and flow to completion of mix cycle.
RESULT:
Excellent dispersion and improved spray dry results – plus improved product performance in copying machines. Also, less mixing time than “sawtooth blades”.
AB MIXER:
C-3-1 mixer in 300 gallon tank. Mixer equipped with bronze mixing head bearing.
EQUIPMENT REPLACED:
User retained “sawtooth blade”, but shifted production to AB mixer.
