CMC DISPERSION
Description
MATERIAL:
Carboxy methylcellulose dispersed into water at 1% by weight solids for strength aid.
PROBLEM: Complete dispersion of CMC powder must be attained before adding to furnish. Batch mixers left small lumps that appeared in final toilet tissue paper.
RESULTS:
Complete and continuous dispersion of CMC powder easily obtained and proven out in pilot plant.
AB MIXER:
Model D-1000 Dilumelt (Dispershear) for pilot plant operation.
EQUIPMENT REPLACED:
Inefficient propeller mixers

Improved product quality and complete reliable supply that does not slow down paper machine production rates.
