Description
MATERIAL:
Poly Butadiene rubber dissolved in Styrene.
PROBLEM:
Dissolve pieces (max. size 3/4″) of Poly Butadiene in Styrene Monomer to make 20,000 gallons of Poly Styrene.
RESULTS:
Recirculated mix through Dicon at 400 gpm.
AB MIXER:
Model 6 x 3, toothed impeller/liner, 10 HP, 1800 RPM, 3/8″ grid. Gear pump feeding Dicon from agitated reactor.
BENEFITS: Dissolution time of 4-6 hours reduced to 2-3 hours. Production capability doubled. No gel specks (tiny undissolved pieces of rubber) in product.
